Manali

Manali, in the Beas River Valley, is an important hill station in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 1950 meters with a population of 30 000 people. The small town was the beginning of an ancient trade route toLadakh.

The snow capped mountain ranges, colourful orchards and the gushing rivers have earned Manali fame of being one of the most beautiful places in the northern part of India. There are various tourist spots in and around this hill town that attract a large number of Indian as well as international tourists every year.

Hadimba Temple

Hadimba is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hadimba Devi, a character in the Indian epic Mahabharata, a famous book in the Hinduist religion. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest at the foot of the Himalayas. The structure, built in 1553, has intricately carved wooden doors and a 24 meters tall wooden shikhara or tower above the sanctuary.

Manu Temple
The ancient Manu Temple has a distinct historical background. According to Hindu mythology, the sage Manu is the divine creator of the human race in the world. It was in this region that the sage stayed and meditated.

Vashist Hot Water Springs
Three kilometers from Manali, spread across the Beas River, is Vashist, a village with natural sulphur springs. The temperature in these hot water springs can reach 50°C. The Vashist Hot Water Springs have made this small village famous to people from all over the world and travelers come here for medicinal benefit.

Rothang-la Pass
The Rothang-la Pass is the highest point on the Manali - Keylong Road. Located at an altitude of 3979 meters, the spot promises an exquisite view of the surrounding mountain ranges. These predominantly Buddhist areas promise you an ascetic and haunting view. Being a bit inaccessible to the modern civilization has helped the place to retain its pure and untouched beauty.

Solang Valley
Popularly known as the Snow Point, the Solang Valley is thirteen kilometers northwest of Manali. It is the place where the Ski School of Manali is located. There are wonderful ski slopes and picnic spots in this beautiful place.
